For our client, a multinational corporation within industrial equipment & solutions, we are currently seeking a skilled professional and hands-on Vice President Sales to drive growths in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines.
About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for a hands-on, results-driven Vice President of Sales to lead and oversee the sales function for a multi-industry business, including Water, Energy, F&B, and General Industries. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to shape and drive the strategic sales vision, working closely with senior management teams to achieve ambitious growth targets.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Managing Director and the Regional Sales Director Asia-Pacific to develop and maintain a 3-5 year strategic sales plan, aligned with overall business objectives
- Lead the development and implementation of the annual sales budget in partnership with the MD
- Ensure alignment between sales activities and other departments to achieve targeted growth objectives, actively contributing to organizational success
- Provide direction and leadership to sales management teams, guiding them to meet individual and collective sales goals
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with key clients, supporting the Sales Managers and Industry Cluster Sales Managers in account management
- Drive performance by conducting regular forecast and pipeline reviews, ensuring that lead generation and pipeline development meet revenue targets.
- Establish clear KPIs for the team, continuously monitoring and improving sales processes to enhance efficiency
- Evaluate existing business distribution channels, ensuring their effectiveness and resolving any conflicts to align with territory plans
- Develop and strengthen key accounts by building strong client relationships and ensuring alignment with international agreements
- Prepare and present regular sales reports to the MD, assisting with corporate reporting needs
- Champion an industry-focused, application-driven approach to the sales organization
- Maximize potential within the aftersales/service business, mapping installed bases and developing suitable product portfolios
- Stay informed on regional market trends, customer behavior, and competitive dynamics, providing valuable feedback to the organization
- Collaborate with Strategic Marketing to plan customer campaigns, set trade show budgets, and represent the company at relevant industry events
- Identify emerging market opportunities and monitor shifts in product and competition trends, reporting to senior management
- Lead negotiations and review commercial terms and conditions with various stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; an equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered
- Degree in Economics or Engineering is preferred
- At least 10 years of experience in a senior sales management role, with a proven track record of driving sales in multiple industries such as Water, Energy, F&B, or General Industries
- Strong strategic thinking capabilities, with the ability to plan, execute, and adapt to future market conditions
- Exceptional leadership and coaching abilities, with experience motivating and developing sales teams
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and Malay; proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively
- Expertise in CRM systems (preferably SAP)
- Proficiency in contract negotiations and commercial terms review
- Significant regional sales experience across Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, and Brunei
- Solid P&L management experience and proven sales reporting expertise
- Willingness to travel frequently across the region and internationally
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage complex sales processes
- Industry knowledge in pumps, water treatment products, controllers, sensors, or other industrial and engineering products
Additional Information
- Reporting to: MD Malaysia/ Singapore
- Possible starting/ onboarding date: Negotiable
- Monthly basic gross salary (depending on work experience):
- Malaysia:
- Up to MYR 30.000,- (based on 13 months)
- Company car or monthly car allowance
- Bonus: + 2.5 months bonus based on specific KPI’s
