Our client is an international logistics and project freight forwarding company with a strong presence across Asia and global operations supporting complex industrial and infrastructure projects. Due to continued growth in Vietnam, the company is looking to strengthen its Project Logistics leadership team in Ho Chi Minh City.
About the role
We are recruiting a Senior Project Logistics Manager for a leadership-track position based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This role is designed for an ambitious and hands-on project logistics professional who combines operational expertise with leadership capability and commercial mindset.
The successful candidate will lead a team of 5–6 professionals while managing complex project cargo and freight forwarding activities across industrial and infrastructure-related sectors.
The position offers a structured growth path toward a future Head of Projects role in Vietnam, with long-term regional career potential.
Development Path
1st Year – Operations & Team Leadership
- Take ownership of day-to-day project logistics operations while leading and developing the local projects team. Work closely with regional engineering, chartering, and operations stakeholders to strengthen operational and solution design capabilities.
2nd Year – Commercial & Business Expansion
- Gradually take on stronger customer-facing and commercial responsibilities, including business development, strategic account management, tender participation, and relationship building with key clients in the industrial and project cargo sector.
3rd Year – Strategic Leadership
- Progress into a broader leadership role with responsibility for driving the Vietnam Projects business, leading strategic growth initiatives, and positioning yourself as successor for the country-level Head of Projects function.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of 5–6 project logistics and operations professionals.
- Manage complex project cargo, heavy lift, breakbulk, and multimodal freight forwarding operations.
- Coordinate with engineering, chartering, and regional operations teams on customized logistics solutions.
- Oversee project execution, operational performance, and service quality.
- Support business development activities and customer relationshipmanagement.
- Participate in customer meetings, tenders, and commercial solution presentations.
- Contribute to the strategic growth and expansion of the Vietnam Projects business.
Your Profile & Experience
- Proven experience within Project Logistics, Freight Forwarding, Heavy Lift, Breakbulk, or Ocean Freight operations.
- Strong operational understanding of complex international logistics projects.
- Leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate teams.
- Commercial mindset with business development exposure or motivation to grow into a client-facing role.
- International working experience, ideally including Europe or the Americas, is highly advantageous.
- Entrepreneurial, self-driven, and hands-on personality.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent English language skills are required.
- Willingness to relocate to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Additional Information
- Reporting to: Global Lead Project Logistics.
- Possible starting/ onboarding date: As soon as possible.
- Monthly basic gross salary: Up to USD 6.500,- (depending on work experience).
- Additional Bonus: 13th months salary + performance related bonus (Individual and Company).
